December 2005
December saw the release of KEYNOTES published by Faber Music. This series of four graded piano repertoire books is chosen and edited by John Lenehan. Reflecting the full range of keyboard repertoire the series ranges from Couperin to Carl Vine with works in print for the first time from Julian Anderson, Leo Orstein and Ludwig van Beethoven. October 2005
During October 2005 John Lenehan toured South America with violinist Tasmin Little. They played eight recitals in Columbia, Peru and Brazil. The programme included their joint composition "Tchaikovskiana" which they recorded for EMI in 2003. Tasmin's entertaining "Letters from South America" can be read at her website.
June 2005
EMI commissioned John to transform the last movement of Dvorak's "New World" Symphony into a piano concerto. It was recorded by Maksim and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as the title track on his 2005 album.
May 2005
The May/June 2005 edition of "Piano" magazine contains an article on the art of accompaniment. Those interviewed include Vladimir Ashkenazy, Richard Goode, Graham Johnson and John Lenehan.
April 2005
John has been invited to contribute to the "Quavers and Flavours" cookbook - favourite recipes selected by respected and leading contemporary musical figures. The Book will be published to celebrate the seventieth birthday of "Making Music".
